How to Make Homemade Mango Peach Jam

Jump to Recipe Print Recipe

This mango peach jam is simple, healthy, and delicious! Though it’s the perfect summer jam, you can definitely enjoy this any time of the year! With just a few steps you’ll have the perfect new spread!

easy quick mango peach jam jar

This recipe, just like my Cherry Berry Jam and BLUEBERRY CHIA SEED JAM, is extremely versatile. Use it like traditional jam or find fun new ways to use it! (vanilla cupcakes with mango peach jam? yum!)

The unique taste and color also makes this the perfect homemade jam to gift! Put some in an airtight jar, add a nice ribbon or sticker, and it’s ready for your family and friends!

You do have to be patient while waiting for the water to evaporate and the fruit to thicken up, especially due to the high water content of peaches. The sweet and spreadable jam you get is definitely worth it though!

Benefits of Mangos and Peaches

Don’t be fooled by its bright color and delicious taste! This jam has only two main ingredients, mangos and peaches. Both of these fruits are not only sweet and tasty, but good for you as well! Mangos are full of healthy vitamins and minerals, including vitamin C, vitamin A, vitamin B6, and copper. Peaches have plenty of vitamins and minerals as well, including vitamin C, vitamin A, and potassium. Both of these fruits contain lots of fiber, and are packed with antioxidants which help protect the cells in your body from free radicals.

Plus, by adding only maple syrup for sweetness, you avoid all the extra cane sugar added in store-bought jams! So, this jam is not only delicious, but actually a healthier alternative to what you might buy in store!

Mango Peach Jam Ingredients

  • Mango
  • Peach
  • Maple Syrup : This can also be substituted for your sweetener of choice, such as agave syrup or honey. Feel free to adjust the amount you use, depending on which sweetener you choose.

Both fruits can be used either frozen or fresh. Keep in mind that the frozen fruit will have a higher water content, so the cooking time will need to be increased.

I recommend thawing the frozen fruit for a few minutes, as it makes it easier to cut into pieces, to blend, and it prevents the additional cooking time. However, the end result will be the same either way!

How to Make Mango Peach Jam

  • If you wish, chop the mango and peach into small pieces, making it easier for them to blend smoothly.
  • Add fruit and maple syrup (or your sweetener of choice) to the blender.
  • Blend well until you reach a smooth consistency. If you want your jam to have some small chunks of fruit, don’t blend completely.
  • If needed, you can add a little bit of water to help the fruit blend, but be careful not to add too much, as this will add even more cooking time.
  • Transfer the fruit blend to a medium saucepan over medium high heat.
  • Stir frequently until the mixture begins to bubble, then turn the heat down to medium and continue to stir.
  • Make sure you are constantly stirring the fruit! If you don’t, the mixture will likely stick the bottom of your saucepan.
  • However, if you find that the jam is sticking to the bottom, turn the heat down as you continue to stir. This will add a little bit of cooking time, but the fruit won’t burn!
  • Cook for around 10-15 minutes, until the jam has thickened to your desired consistency. Keep in mind that the jam will thicken substantially while cooling down.
  • Remove the jam from the heat and let it cool down completely before storing.

And you’re done! It’s a super simple recipe and pretty hard to mess up! Don’t worry too much about not cooking it for the perfect amount of time, you’ll figure out your preference after a few tries. The jam will still taste great if you let it get too thick, and if it’s too thin you just continue boiling!

Storage

Keep this jam in an airtight container in the refrigerator and it should stay good for around 3 weeks. This recipe makes a relatively small batch of jam though, so I doubt it’ll last that long!

Jam Serving Suggestions

There are so many ways to use this jam, but some of my favorite are:

  • Spread on some toast or rice cakes (tastes great with almond butter!)
  • Added on top of warm oatmeal
  • As a filling in cupcakes or spread on warm muffins
  • As a layer in cakes
  • Spread on some pancakes or waffles
  • As the filling for thumbprint cookies

Let me know if you enjoy this jam recipe, I’d love to hear what you think!
